What Do You Bring to a Boat Party? The Complete Checklist

Drew JohnsonUncategorized

Nothing is quite like partying on a boat. Sure, you could choose a different venue, but why would you want to?

You get to experience the sun, water, and crystal clear skies while enjoying yourself amongst your friends. There really isn’t any reason not to.

But what should you bring to your boat party? There are some items you should prepare in advance so you can make sure your party is as enjoyable as possible.

Here is your complete boat party checklist.

Sunscreen

Whether you’re prone to sunburn or not, bringing your sunscreen to your Florida party boat is both smart and responsible.

Since you’ll be out in the sun all day soaking up all those nice rays, apply the sunscreen every 30 minutes.

You can set a timer on your phone so it doesn’t seem as much of a chore, and why not share the sunscreen with your friends?

You can encourage your skin to tan instead of burn, which will also prevent you from feeling so tired during and after the party.

Hat and Sunglasses

Since you’ll be out on the big blue sea, especially if you’re on a Fort Myers party boat, the sun will be bright, and it will be reflecting off the ocean.

If you don’t want to squint your eyes all day (which could cause a headache), make sure you have sunglasses readily available. Hats can also help with the glare, and they’ll prevent the wind from tying your hair in knots or getting in your way when you’re playing games!

Coolers

If you’re hosting the boat party, you probably already know you want to provide tons of food and drinks. Yet, even if you’re just attending, bring a couple of coolers of you’re favorite drinks and food that you can share.

That way, you know that everything you want will be on deck, which is important since you can’t just go to the store when you’re out partying at sea!

Windbreaker

The wind on a party boat rental is no joke.

It’s great to keep you cool, especially if the sun is beating down on you, but it can become bothersome if you have nothing to shield it.

This is especially important if you plan to go swimming. Sure, the ocean is going to be glorious to swim in, but once you get out, the wind may make you chilled.

A windbreaker or sweatshirt can help prevent that. You don’t have to bring anything crazy heavy, just enough protection to keep the party going even when it gets a little colder.

Swimming Gear

Speaking of swimming, if you’re going on a Fort Lauderdale party boat, you’re going to want to get into that ocean. The clear, blue waters are so enticing. Even if you forget your swimsuit, you’ll probably end up jumping in anyway!

So, to prevent your clothes from getting drenched, pack all the swimming gear you’ll need. That way, when the time comes, you’ll be prepared to get in without a hitch.

And, afterward, you’ll be able to change and get back in your dry, warm clothes and continue partying.

Party Playlist

No party is complete without an epic music playlist, and this is especially true for a boat party in Florida. Floridians know how to party like no other!

If you’re the host, have a few different playlists prepared to accommodate all of the different party moods. If you’re a guest, make sure you gathered you’re favorite party playlist too.

You never know when it will be your turn to be the DJ, so it’s better to be ready.

Proper Attire

Depending on the theme of this boat party, you’ll want to make sure whatever you come in is appropriate. If it’s more formal, make sure you don’t show up in your favorite beach shirt.

You’d want to learn more on the side of a button-up shirt and nice pants. If it’s less formal, wearing comfortable clothes and swimsuits will do.

It’s also wise to bring an extra pair of clothes, just in case you get wet from the water, or sweaty, or you want to continue the party through the night and want to put on long layers.

Correct Footwear

Speaking of what you should wear, don’t forget about what’s on your feet!

You’ll want to wear comfortable shoes that are water-resistant since you’ll probably be going in and out of the water. This could be boat shoes, sandals, or flip-flops.

Plus, the deck might get wet, and you definitely don’t want to slip! If you want to bring another pair of close-toed shoes at night to keep your feet warm, you can keep those with your extra set of clothes.

Party Attitude

Partying on a boat is a different atmosphere than other parties you’ve probably attended.

You want to have a great time, so make sure your attitude is set to enjoy the experience as much as possible!

You’ll want to be ready to do whatever comes. Going swimming in the ocean? Sure, why not? Going on a boat party guide? Yes, absolutely!

Be ready to be spontaneous, and enjoy yourself on the sunny seas!
